Daywind Music Group Nominated For 16 Dove Awards

Nashville, Tenn. (2/19/08) - The Gospel Music Association announced the nominees for the 39th Annual Dove Awards. The Daywind Music Group family was honored with 16 Dove Award nominations.

Garnering three nominations is recent Grammy nominee Karen Peck and New River. Also receiving triple nominations are Austins Bridge and New Harvest. Many others among the Daywind family received at least one nomination. For the first time ever Greater Vision's own Gerald Wolfe is up for Male Vocalist of the Year and Austins Bridge got the nomination for New Artist of the Year.

Daywind Records' A&R Director and Vice President, Norman Holland, shares, "We always strive to produce better recordings and to find a ministry and sound that our audience will embrace. We are very fortunate and blessed to have 16 nominations, and we are truly grateful for that." Daywind's President, Ed Leonard, echoes the excitement with this statement, "We are honored to represent such great artists and writers at Daywind. We are proud of their achievements."

The nominations received by Daywind Music Group are Male Vocalist of the Year, (Gerald Wolfe of Greater Vision), New Artist of the Year, (Austins Bridge). Nominations in the Album categories include Southern Gospel Album of the Year (/Journey Of Joy/, Karen Peck & New River and /Real Faith/, Brian Free & Assurance), Country Album of the Year, (/Austins Bridge/, Austins Bridge and/ Life is Great and Gettin' Better/, Jeff and Sheri Easter), and Traditional Gospel Album of the Year (/New Harvest/, New Harvest). Among the song nominations are Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year ("Last Night;" /Journey of Joy,/ Karen Peck & New River, "Over And Over," /Life Is Great And Gettin' Better/, Jeff & Sheri Easter and "I'm Just Waiting On My Ride," /The Ride/, The Hoppers, written by Daywind writer Ronnie Hinson), Country Recorded Song of the Year ("Round The Kitchen Table," /Journey of Joy/; Karen Peck & New River), Contemporary Recorded Gospel Song of the Year ("You Saved Me," /Letting Go,/ The Crabb Family), Bluegrass Song of the Year ("He's in Control," /Austins Bridge/, Austins Bridge and "I Will Find You Again," /Lifetimes/, Little Roy Lewis, Earl Scruggs, Lizzy Long, Christian Taylor Publishing), Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year ("I Can't Stop Praising Him," /New Harvest/, New Harvest), Urban Gospel Song of the Year ("I Can," /New Harvest/, New Harvest).

The Dove Awards will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
